Choate Bridge Restaurant

Coming into Ipswich late for dinner (8:00) we walked from our B&B to Choate Bridge Pub. The pub is on the corner of North Main and Central, the bar is in front and dining is in back. We ordered the baked haddock with potato and squash. It was delicious. The waitress was kind, attentive and efficient. Thumbs up.👍🏼

As always consistent! Friendly staff and the dining room was quiet before 4pm for a late lunch/early dinner with a little kid.

I've been coming here over the past 20+ years, and in all that time not much has changed. Excellent seafood and burgers, a unique pub atmosphere, friendly yet casual staff, decent drafts and a unique corner of local flavor. Expect a wait for large parties, cash only, and a tight, crowed atmosphere.

We enjoy going out. Last night we arrived in this fine place which we didn’t know before. We had a beautiful time there with fine cooking and a professional stuff and a great cook. We put this venue in our phone list and we shall certainly visit again very soon. We highly recommend.

Menu sounds better than it tastes for being in a quaint little town in an afluemt area the atmosphere reaked of misery and desperation for a good time. Keep it moving unless it your only option fairly later and everything else is closed

Ordered a clam plate that seemed expensive at first $23.95 but when it came to my table I was stunned by the portion size. Easily over a pint of delicious fresh Ipswich clams piled and I do mean piled high where you can't see nothing but clams in layers. Excellent onion rings but with so much food I had to choose. I chose to finish off every clam. My only reason for not giving it a 5 is the atmosphere. It's a pub so it's noisy and tight.

The place offers a vast variety of fresh food. I enjoyed eating here. Staff members are always super nice, rates are convenient and the spot is always neat.

I haven't been here in a long time and really enjoyed my visit. The bartender was great and people around the bar friendly. If you're lucky enough to get a spot at the bar, try out their pastrami sandwich!

Yesterday was our first time we went to this excellent restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last time. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the attentive service, with the fine cooking and wine and with the friendly pay. We will absolutely come back soon.

The only reason I gave them 3 stars for the ratings was because of taking at least 45 minutes to get our food. If I rated it ONLY on the food, my rating would be 5 stars. We stopped there on a Sunday around 12:30 PM and got their last table without waiting. The waitresses were all great but it was very, very busy. We were told the delay in getting our food was because of only having 2 cooks on duty. If you have plenty of time in your day, I would highly recommend this place for their food.

Classic Ipswich spot for fried clams and drinks. All of the fried seafood platters are huge (could be split for 2 and still have some leftover). They also have salads, sandwiches, pizza, and dessert.

Great locals pub. Good portions on a predictable menu done right. Get comfy at the bar, make a new friend and you won't be disappointed.

It was a bit busy during the lunching hour but service was pretty slow. The server was pleasant and apologetic about the delay. The atmosphere was comfortable but the bar is kind of cramped. Sports on TV. Standard pub fare. The food was decent if a bit overpriced. It was conveniently located with plenty of parking near by.

Loved it! Best fried clams my husband ever had and he’s eaten them everywhere along the east coast. I had the beef tip salad. It was delish. Our waitress was lovely and helpful. Great Joint.

Better clams than the Clam Box! Hamburgers are #1. The only downside is finding a parking spot for the handicapped.

I go here every Saturday for lunch and to start the weekend off right. The service is excellent, and so is the food. It has a great atmosphere and is a perfect place to "people watch" in Ipswich center, and it's relaxed and comfortable with friendly conversation and friendly people. The food is great too - big fan of the clam chowder, steak bomb, blackened chicken sandwich and their steak fries! Be sure to tip your waitstaff, these people work hard for a living!

Great seafood, local Ipswich clams and awesome steak tips. Remember Ipswich is cash only but they have an ATM in the restaurant.

Cash only and a vintage feel. One of the best chowders around if you like thicker chowder. Great location for people watching and having a comfy over-sized meal. The fried scallops are also yummy.

First time here....Food was fabulous! Clam roll and scallop plate..enormous portions and priced right! Service was great..Regan was our server... she gave us a wonderful experience!

The best sea food in town much better than any I’ve experienced. The people inside are an inclusive bunch. They really embody the spirt of a small town.

The scallope plate was enormous and delicious as were the lobster rolls but my steak tips were a bittough. Other than that the six of us really enjoyed the meal.

The newly expanded dining room creates an open and inviting atmosphere. The food here is always excellent and is in my opinion one of the best on the North Shore. Get the mixed grille (pictured); it comes with grilled steak, pork, chicken, and 2 sides.

We went with plans for fried clams but there were none due to red tide. Bummer! But our wait person Nicole steered us to the local, fresh, baked haddock--which was really good. Good atmosphere/vibe.

This place is amazing. They have fried clams that are piled so high in the plate, you can never finish the entire order but that's fine take them home and enjoy the next day. Food is great the wait staff is super friendly, all the food we have ever eaten there has been very good. This is a must visit restaurant in the area.

Pub style food that does not miss. Back room is low key and easy if you have kids and don't want a bar feel .... Highly recommend this place either way of you are in Ipswich.

The best friend whole belly Ipswich clams I've had in many years. Easily three dozen in the order. Well worth the price. Not sure when I'll be back, but worth the trip from Tennessee.

The onion rings are Awesome!!!!! Lightly battered cooked in fresh oil.The scallop dinner is one of the best. HUGH Portions. Have been here 4/5 times now everything is great.

Nice comfortable vibe and food was ok to good. However you definitely know who the locals/regulars are.

Excellent place for fresh, local fare. We started with the fried clam appetizer plate, which was enough for 4 people. The clams were hot and delicious. Local Ipswich clams! 3 of us had the fried haddock sandwich with fries, and a hot pastrami sandwich. Everything was great. Our server was funny and friendly. I'd go back again.

Great service, good prices, and nice menu

Steak tips were perfect. Buffalo fried shrimp appetizer was as big as a meal. The staff really seemed to have a nice flow. This place was packed at 9 p.m. Saturday with everyone getting food. All I can say is this did not slow them down at all. They are doing everything great. Oh and my Guinness was delicious too!

I go to this marvelous place from time to time since I love the special air that is part of this place. The crew is exceptionally welcoming and qualified. The service is certainly fast. Most important, the food they cook is first-rate. I visited often and I was always joyful. The cost is modest. I suggest this place to to all.

First time there for me and I went on word of mouth recommendations. My plan was to get their fried clams and scallops. These are what most people rave about. I was not disappointed. Both items were wonderful and delicious. Fried perfectly and paired with an abundance of both onion rings and French fries. This is what fried seafood should be! Our server, Nicole, simply fantastic! She made recommendations on how to order the plates and checked on us frequently. Service and food 5 stars! Note: Cash only, no cards.

The food is incredible. Do yourself a favor, and get the fried clams. Portions are huge. Nice hometown atmosphere.
